A Little Bit About Me
I am a native of the central Willamette Valley of Oregon, and spent most of my youth on my family's small farm near Woodburn.
After earning a Master's degree in education I was a teacher for 20 years, and had the pleasure of teaching art to elementary students for one year which seeded my interest in developing my own artwork.
In 2011 we completed my studio, which is on the second floor of a carriage house style garage at our home.
Arts and crafts have a long tradition in my family, and I have been involved in a variety of these endeavors, from designing and making wedding dresses, doll house building, wool felting, Ukrainian Easter Eggs, batik, and quilting, to artwork in colored pencils, ink, soft pastels and, acrylic abstracts.
Around 2015 I began doing multi medium artwork with metal and later ceramics. For the last half dozen years I have been focusing on ceramics, and acquired kilns and equipment to do conventional kiln firing as well as Raku and pit firing.
